We are Designed to Worship God

Humanity is created to worship.  If you go around the world and you just study various tribes and cultures they all worship something.  Something inside of us craves worship.  You can worship money, you can worship an idol, you could worship a thing, you can worship God, but we are designed to worship.  Now ultimately, we are designed to worship God.  This is why Jesus came. It is so that we could be restored to fellowship, our sins forgiven, that we could have a worshiping, loving relationship with our Father.  This is our primary purpose in life.

He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 10:39

In our world today, the first concern of most people is themselves – It’s all about me.  This is so simple we can miss it.  It is important to understand as long as you think it’s all about you, you won’t find your purpose.  You can be anything you want to be. It’s all about you.  No, it’s not.  Not if you’re a believer.  If your first concern is to look after yourself, you’ll never find yourself. Until you surrender to God and say, “God, I surrender my life to You, I worship You,” then the Creator can’t reveal who you really are.

As long as you’ve got pride and arrogance, “I’ll design my own life, thank you very much, I want to be in control,” God lets you choose.  You can choose.  He said, “I set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose” (Deuteronomy 30:19).  You can choose.

Paul is a great example.  He used his gifting and his purpose to persecute the church and then he found out who he was in Christ and used it to build the church.  Moses initially used his purpose to kill the Egyptian.  But God took it, sanctified it, redeemed it, and channeled it for the purpose intended for his life.  Every one of us has got a plan.  There’s a unique plan God has for us in the grand scheme of things, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this. You’re right on time, and in the right place.

As much as the moon was hung the stars were placed, you’re His prized creation.  He thought about you before He created this entire universe.  Every single atom on the planet—every bird, every bee, every insect, every piece of dirt, and then you, the crowning of creation—has a unique place and a role to play.  When you are walking in that, you can be fulfilled in who you are.  It all begins when we worship God with our whole lives.
